SMD multilayer chip inductor is formed by several layers of ceramic (ferrite) material. Multilayer chip inductors feature with low cost and miniature size compared to the wire-wound inductor. Normally, the inductors of the multilayer structure will be chip beads to work as the EMI filter. However, for some applications, because of the limitation of the dimension, the customer also chooses the multilayer product which works as the inductor.
